Who we are
Caritas Fostering is a well established, not for profit, fostering agency and are part of a larger social welfare charity, Caritas Diocese of Salford. Formerly known as Catholic Childrens Rescue Society, we have been providing foster placements across the North West since 1950.
We are a relatively small tier 1 agency and as such our team of experienced social workers is able to provide a more personalised service to foster carers, who form close bonds with staff as well as each other.
We are actively recruiting foster carers in the North West for the many children and young people who need foster care. Find out more how you can become a carer by downloading our information pack or by contacting us for an informal chat.
Where we operate
Caritas Salford is based at Cathedral Centre in Salford and the charity reaches across the Diocese of Salford from Stockport in the South to East Lancashire and Todmorden in the North and West. Arrangements with Shrewsbury Diocese enable us to recruit from the boroughs adjacent to Salford Diocese Trafford, Tameside and North Cheshire.
We work with 22 local authorities across the North west - we are particularly seeking to recruit carers who live in:
Manchester, Salford, Tameside, Trafford, Stockport, Oldham, Rochdale, Bury ,Bolton, Lancashire and Merseyside.
Applicants are welcomed from all sectors of the community and placements of children of any or no faith are made with our foster carers.
